Its been awhile since I posted on my blog, but its for good reason. I have been busy! Busy with my kids and busy with photography. I hope to keep this update more but time will tell. Here is my latest photo from an engagement shoot with an amazing couple.
A posed photo of a bride and groom during their reception party. Using the light and environments around you to create amazing portraits that are unique.
Even tho their original wedding was four years, and hosted on zoom, the bride and groom share a photographic moment with each other at one of the senic spots in Blum, Texas.
During a chilly wedding reception, the DJ (left) hands the mic to the Bride (center) and the Maid of Honor (right), to take part in some live music.
The parents of the groom sit next to a framed portrait of their Grandmother, to express their love for someone dear who could not be there.
Being a photographer I get all kinds of inquires for media needs. During winter its not unusual to get an email from a business to photograph a dinner or event. This was a beautiful little dinner at the Ritz Carrolton in Dallas.
I photographed Jenifers wedding later this past summer, we planned to meet at the same venue on a date where it was much cooler in Texas. We decided on 11/02/2022. It was a beautiful day and being able to really take time to create some portraits with out a “wedding planner” telling me to hurry made all the difference.
After hours getting everything prepared for their wedding day, this couple shares a moment together. 10/30/2022 - Mansfield, Texas
As the rain showers throughout the wedding day, the bride and groom do not stress out about mother nature but instead trust their photographer and get something that is different. 10/28/2022 - Rockwall, Texas
Sometimes exploring for unique locations can be everything, like this one, a room divider by the restrooms. 10/21/2022 - Joshua, Texas
After a long day starting at 8 am, the couple enjoys a moment together as the sunsets. The calm wind of the changing seasons blows the bride’s dress as they take each other in. 10/20/2022 - Aubrey, Texas
Veronica, puts on her final details as she gets ready for her wedding day. Her husband stand patently outside to see her for their first look. Alvarado, Texas - 10/16/2022
During the exit, the bride and groom decided to take a dip in the pool on one of the last warm Texas nights of the year.
During the ceremony, the daughter of the Maid of Honor, walks up to her mother to see the long beautiful dress.

The reception is a magical time. The party is a time where not only do the guest feel ready to party but the bride and groom do as well. This is a time when I tell my clients I will be doing strictly documentary work. I love to be in the middle of the dance floor getting the action and emotion, while everyone takes part in the fine art of drinking. One technique I love to practice is what I call the “BEER GOGGLES”. I shoot a beam of light to a person dancing, drag my shutter, and spin the camera around in a clockwise motion. This type of shooting is really fun and you get some amazing pictures out of it.a
I cannot tell you how many times I would first meet a couple, and their faces read, "I am nervous." Nerves happen 70% of the time when I have couples in front of my camera. Over the years, I have learned how to relax and photograph people to get authentic moments and feelings. I always tell my clients this will be easier than they think; how can that be? Well, I am creating pictures of you, and I want you to be yourself. I set you in a pose and then just let things unfold, let you hold, kiss, cuddle each other. I started to play music again with a speaker; I play what I call "romantic tunes" just to let you get comfortable together as we create photos.
Hello, and welcome to my wedding photography blog. This blog will allow my clients and future clients to take an actual peek into my work and my feelings on photography and photojournalism. Here I will share some of my favorite moments during assignments, any new news with my work, and my photography behind the scenes.
In this post, I take you to a wedding deep in the rural lands of North Texas, a place where as soon as you enter the dirt road that leads to the venue, you are surprised by its beauty. This wedding focused on family and love, guests embraced each other with open arms, and children ran around with smiles and laughs. During this wedding, I focused on the relationship the Bride and Groom have with their families and children. I wanted not only to show the wedding but how the children were during the day.
At this wedding, I shot mainly natural light, I did use a couple of strobes during the reception, but I primarily went natural. When I arrived, I knocked out all the formal stuff so the bride could relax and focus on the critical things. I feel this helped with nerves and made the day go by easier. These are some examples of the work I created this past weekend.
